Sapan Shah, MD, is an exceptional internist at CN Internal Medicine in Alexandria and Lansdowne, Virginia. He specializes in adult primary care and preventive medicine.
Born and raised in India, Dr. Shah completed his medical schooling at Baroda Medical College in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. Here, he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Raised in a family of doctors, the fundamentals of deep compassion and care for patients became the foundation on which he built his career, he is concerned with the patient’s whole being, not just the disease.
Dr. Shah’s proclivity towards humanitarian medicine took him to the vast rural farmlands of multiple cities in the state of Gujarat, India. In 2013, he participated as an external monitor during the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Special Immunization Week. Additionally, he led the Pulse Polio team with WHO as Block Supervisor.
Moving to the United States for his residency, Dr. Shah completed hours of intensive training at the Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Shah is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). His special interests include infectious diseases and pulmonary medicine.
When not at the office, Dr. Shah enjoys singing, going on long nature walks and playing ping pong.
